Why do they think a year of identity theft protection is adequate? This happens all the time and that's what they always do. I think perhaps we need a class action lawsuit and I would not accept the terms of the one-year free identity theft monitoring. Somehow that makes people feel better?

I think Equifax hacked themselves, I think it was an inside job. I used the website AnnualCreditReport several times. Why would I go to their website and supply my personal information, to find out if my information was compromised. And if my identity wasn't stolen, I could be if I go through the lookup process because they really don't know if it's safe. I am upset about this entire situation, because they should've notified the public sooner.

It's time to put companies lie Equifax out of business. They hold too much personal information and have too much power over people's lives. When you also consider the fact these companies answer to no one, not even the customers whose lives they monitor, it's time to close them down or impose much stricter monitoring from outside.

Who cares? Is anyone going to jail for having lax security? That is just as criminal as the act itself. Assholes.

So they were hacked in May or June, the managers then sold their stock worth millions of dollars, then they tell us about the hack in September, then the company's stock plummets. Doesn't that make you mad?

Free protection of their "trusted ID"? Are you kidding me…they can't even protect themselves and giving us one year of protection for free? LOL
