I prefer the previous version, it was more natural. And no, that would not fool me.

    Creepy, yes.
Saying they pretend, no. They told the person on the receiving end that it is a bot.

Google duplex is such an unnecessary invention. They just do it because they can, but it serves no purpose and is another step to make people more lazy. Also, the fact that the calls are recorded is really creepy too.

Its ok but I think Google should have it introduce itself first by saying ,"Are youu sarahh Connor?" I need to speak to Sarahhh Connor please"

All the problem and concerns with Duplex is that it was made by Google and not Apple, just imagine the picture with Siri doing all this, everybody would be like: oh freaking awesome, including CNET, Engadget etc… 🤨

In the future, one Google Assistant will talk with another Google Assistant for appointments.

There ain't no way in hell I'm accepting a google assistant call. It's just too perfect for scammers: Hi, I'm a Google Assistance, calling to purchase 110 computers. Here's my credit card. Ship to this postal box.

Bullshit, It is an excuse because in reality duplex does not work so well as they wanted to show to the I/O and with this story of the "morally correct" justifing inferiority of its capabilities, all already established by before the presentation people open your eyes. In fact just see that already more than a year ago in China Microsoft introduce Xiaoice that Google has copied blatantly, even the presentation conversation is the same and L has reproposed over a year later to the whole world as if they had created something new. When in fact in China Japan the intelligence behind Xiaoice is used every day and is not only a means to call but a real intelligence able to conduct a TG for news on the weather and talk to users as if it were a real human being. Microsoft has not released such intelligence so advanced to the Western world for the simple fact that in the East do not make all these problems with laws to protect users etc and this Google knows and used just as an excuse to say "we have to Downgrade it "But imagine if google did not know before. Duplex was never what we were made to see, nice move Big G . People go to see xiaoice.

How are people saying this is more creepy? This is less creepy, as people will know they are not talking to a human, but to a robot.

Google should first implement this useful AI in emergency calls which could save many lives which in need. As human tend to bee panic and may in shock and able to give clear information. Google AI can also guide the rescue team to find and pinpoint the location correctly.

NO it should not be downgraded because 1 or 2 people are "afraid". Keep it natural.
