I have a iPhone XS MAX, been using iPhones for 8 years. I'm considering switching over to the pixel 3 XL. I'm just bored and unimpressed with software by Apple. Time to move forward and make a change 😯 EXCİTED!!

Wait isn't this on pre launch software? Shouldn't the test be done when the phone launches for the most fair accurate results?

Google 2017 – who needs a dual camera?
Google 2018 – we are adding one in front

I am pretty sure that in low light situations using the stock camera app on the iPhone when you zoom in you do not utilize the second lens anyway. I have confirmed this with my own phone and unless you use a third party app to force the camera to switch to the actual other lens(and you will not like the results) you are simply cropping the wide angle image just like the Pixel does. Really other than being used for Portrait mode to gather additional depth information the second lens only helps in good to great light.

Wow this is tough, both cameras look amazing! I’m not sure which phone to get. I guess I’ll have to wait until google releases night sight and see what it can do, if it makes a huge difference Pixel 3 here I come!

iPhone photos look photoshopped, that is why people think it's pictures are better. The Pixel's pictures are more truer to life

I think everyone has a bias a good way would be take the same photo on tripod side by side and don't let us Know who camera it is then after everyone puts their opinion reveal the results. This way iPhone lover or Google lover won't have a bias.

I want you to compare mate 20 pro with iphone max note 9 speed test but first full there memory at least 250GB . Install 200 application and check there ram management.
Day/night video pictures and compare it on your disktop or tv. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

Who got the genius idea to base the camera test off photos of wax dolls, wtf. Use real people so we can tell how they capture skin tones, smoothing, etc!!!

I would still prefer the iPhone over the Pixel 3.
The reason is,while the Pixel 3 definitely does a tremendous job in still images, most often than not,the iPhone images look exactly the same.
Also, the video as you said is superior on the iPhone along with better sound.
That and the fact that the iPhone is a beast of a device and future proof till the next iPhone,I would pick it over the Pixel 3 as ONLY superior image quality is not enough to shift my confidence.
That is not to say that the Pixel 3 is only good with images,it is still a great phone for 2018,but,the overall experience of the iPhone is way ahead.
