Guys, stop calling it ugly, this is a prototype

The complete design won’t be chunky than the prototype.

This innovation is amazing, but its gonna cost a lot.
And at the end its just a phone, you cant do any serious work or games with it.

The foldable phone is going to be amazing, I mean, compare this with that piece of shit that we saw last week, this screen looks stunning, yeah it seems blocky when folded, but I'm sure thats a case he's using, Samsung is doing a fantastic job, everyone needs to lay off them a little, have faith in Samsung, after all they are probably the best phone company in the world!! They know what they're doing and they always do things right

Let me explain something…. The reason why Samsung showed the display with the phone hidden in a case is because some unknown company 2 weeks ago showed off a phone with the SAME DESIGN as what was leaked with Samsung's design! I'm sure Samsung is going to sue that company… But because of what they did it forced Samsung to show part of their phone…. It wasn't probably fully ready yet to be shown but they did it anyways by putting the phone in a case. They wanted the world to know that they were the ones to create the foldable phone first. People knew they were working on this for years… This new unknown company that stole Samsung's design will know soon not to mess with the big boys….

Yay but I don't got 2 grand to spend on a phone so maybe in a couple of years this tech will be more affordable

Good for Samsung, this has been many years in the making. Hope to see this foldable tech in other devices.

OMG what stupid people. They say it looked like a brick or it is ugly when this is not even the phone case. It is a developer meeting so they have to show where the screens are, how is going to work. The design is for consumers, not developers

You know what's expensive and fragile? My phone. I want moving bulky breakable parts. I could probably go through 2 or 3 of those per year.

Samsung failed this presentation big time. If you have nothing to show – don't. Round edges… right. Bixby? The most successful app will be the one to disable it from future phones.

Foldable phone concept is around for couple of years, Samsung just showed the presentation and the concept nothing more. They even shame to show the product ..!! They kept in dark, and in the pocket. I think their product is far from selling in the market..! They just want to show we did it first ..!

Imagine that instead of folding in 2, the next upcoming second next generation mobile phone will fold 4 times lol. I mean like imagine apple coming up to samsung in response to this like. You wanted something new? Well our engineers created the iPhone (whatever). That when is unfolded, it will have the same screen look than the 2018 12 in iPad Pro. And when it’s folded, it looks like the iPhone 5s, but with a screen similar to the iPhone XR… Idk dude imma take a third dab lol

People calling this stupid or dumb really don’t get it. This was never about showing the device. But rather how they will make it happen as far as folding. And the role it plays. Showing the device off before your ready to mass produce can kill it faster than you think

If the consumer version launches with the same bezel size of the Galaxy S9, and is also just a little bit thicker while closed I will definitely buy it.

Don’t be fooled, this tech is old they’re just barely letting the public get a glance. The Chinese are way more advanced than America. Sure might not be as durable as American made quality but it’s far more advanced for sure. Just remember who makes your cell phones, tv’s and smart home appliances if you wanna play blind.

The thing I'm interested in is the new foldable screens. If the new outer layer is just as good as the one on normal glass screes and are more durable, I wonder what they could do with it by adding it to the S and Note lines. It would mean more space in the phone and a screen that's easier to take care of.
