Awesome reporting, A. Honestly I was hesitant about the report as most things are not geared toward highly textured hair. This tool looks really interesting. I can't wait for a follow-up on how the Shampoo worked for you.

The reason she said made the joke in the beginning is because white people always what to touch black people's hair when its in it natural state, and can be rude about it, a lot of times they do it, before even asking!

Instead of being mad, you should ask why would someone say something that is odd to you. You learn much quicker that way!

The majority of white stylists are never taught to work on different textures of hair and have often never seen natural Black hair (without chemical straightening) up close. They have no idea how fragile it can be, what type of products it requires, or even how to comb it.
What’s more they know that they don’t know. It’s an ongoing joke in salons, both white and Black for years which is why the guy laughed. He knew exactly what she meant. Just because you didn’t get the context and the truth of the statement doesn’t mean it wasn’t funny or that it was offensive. Context matters.

"black hair" is a historically misunderstood thing. The fact that if you're so shocked proves it. Nothing racist going on here. White peoples hair isn't literally used to make them feel less than. Ease up people. It would be nice if we just discussed these things instead of grabbing the pitchforks so fast.

“This is the first time I’m letting white people touch my hair” if the roles were flipped and a white women said this is the first time I’m letting a black person touch my hair there would be outrage.

Can't believe they included what she said in the beginning. Racism is not funny!
